This project required using two syringes along with a simple machine to lift a load. I decided to use an old shoe box to act as a second class lever. I used a two pound weight as a load, and used water as the input force, calculating its weight through its volume.

Two reasons I think my machine wasn't at 100% efficiency were the bending of the box and also the tape inside of the box that was holding the syringe in place having some give. To calculate power, I would divide the work done by the time it took for the work to be done. One challenge I had with this project was the fact that I did not have any building materials, as I had already returned my engineering kit. I had to search around my house for something to use as a simple machine. I think in the future I should be better at documenting my thought process for the building portion in my engineering notebook.
